Naomie's Story

Naomie has called Siren, Wisconsin home for as long as she can remember. Tucked into the lakes and pines of the Northwoods, Siren is a small town, but it holds something big for Naomie: family, heritage, and a craft that connects her to both.

She learned to bead the way most beadworkers do — sitting close, watching hands move faster than her eyes could follow, and being handed a needle of her own long before she felt ready for it. What started as patience-testing practice turned into something she couldn't put down. Every dropped bead, every reworked pattern, every finished piece taught her a little more about the craft, and about herself.

Beadwork, for Naomie, has never just been a hobby. It's a way of staying rooted to her Native heritage and to the generations of artisans who came before her — the ones who first taught the Northwoods that beauty and meaning could be strung together, one bead at a time. She takes real pride in that lineage, and in being a local voice for it here in Siren.

From Practice to Pride

Today, Naomie beads everything by hand, without shortcuts. She favors traditional color stories — turquoise, deep reds, warm gold, and black — and patterns inspired by the diamonds, chevrons, and florals passed down through her family and community. No two pieces come out quite the same, because no two days of beading ever are.

Whether it's a lanyard made for someone who'll wear it every day at work, a pair of earrings for a powwow or a wedding, or a loomed piece meant to be framed and kept for years, Naomie beads each order with the same intention: that it means something to the person who receives it.

Three Threads of Craft

Lanyards — sturdy, wearable beadwork built for daily life, beaded in bold traditional patterns that hold up to real use.

Earrings — light, detailed, and endlessly varied, from simple everyday drops to elaborate statement pairs.

Loom Work — the most painstaking of her crafts, where patterns are woven bead-by-bead on a traditional loom, sometimes taking days to complete a single piece.
